support@cueline.devFrequently asked questions
How do I add my script?
Tap the + button on the home screen. You can record a scene line by line (speech to text), type it in manually, upload a PDF or TXT file (Pro), or paste the text (Pro). For presentations and speeches, 'Type it in' or 'Paste text' work great.
Does Cue Line work without an internet connection?
Mostly yes. All scripts, progress, and settings are stored on your device. Speech recognition uses your device's built-in system, which may require a connection depending on your OS settings. PDF parsing and AI-powered features require an internet connection.
What's the difference between the free plan and Pro?
The free plan includes recording, manual entry, speech recognition practice, monologue mode, and demo scenes — everything you need for most use cases. Pro adds Scene Partner (AI-voiced cue lines), a personalized training program toward your off-book date, script setup from PDF or paste, and audition prep drill mode.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple. Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone, find Cue Line, and tap Cancel Subscription. You'll retain Pro access until the end of the billing period.
Can I use Cue Line for speeches and presentations, not just acting?
Yes. In Settings, set your Performer type to 'Presenter / Speaker' and the app relabels everything — scripts become presentations, scenes become sections, lines become talking points. The practice method is the same.
Why isn't speech recognition working?
Make sure you've granted microphone permission in your phone's Settings → Privacy → Microphone. Speech recognition requires a development build — it won't work in Expo Go. If you're using the App Store build and still having issues, try restarting the app.
My transcript is inaccurate — what can I do?
Speak clearly and at a natural pace. Background noise affects accuracy. If you know your recognition was correct but scored wrong, tap 'STT got it wrong? Skip without penalty' in the feedback screen — this credits the attempt without penalizing you.
How does scoring work?
Cue Line scores locally on your device using fuzzy word matching — no audio is sent to any server. A score of 100 means word-perfect. 80+ is 'almost there'. The app evaluates up to 3 speech alternatives and picks the best match.
Can I use Cue Line for languages other than English?
Yes. Go to Settings → Speech language and select your language. Speech recognition quality varies by language and device.
