Effective date: March 2025
Cue Line is an app for actors to memorize lines. This policy explains what information we collect (very little), how we use it, and your rights.
Information We Collect
Cue Line does not require you to create an account and does not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or location. We do not have servers that store your identity.
Data Stored on Your Device
All scripts, practice progress, and app settings are stored locally in your device's storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly use a feature that contacts an external service (see below). You can delete all local data by uninstalling the app.
Script Parsing
When you import a script (PDF or text file), the script text is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI API to extract characters, scenes, and lines. Cue Line does not store this text on any Cue Line server — it is transmitted directly from your device to Anthropic and the parsed result is returned and saved locally. Anthropic's privacy policy.
Speech Recognition
Speech-to-text is performed either on-device (using the Whisper AI model downloaded directly to your phone) or via your device's built-in speech recognition (Apple or Google). In either case, audio is processed locally or by the OS — audio recordings are never sent to Cue Line servers.
Subscriptions
In-app subscriptions and purchases are processed entirely by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android). Cue Line receives only a confirmation of your purchase status — we do not receive or store your payment information.
Crash Reporting
In release builds, Cue Line uses Sentry to collect anonymized crash reports. These reports include device type, OS version, and a stack trace of the error. They do not include your scripts or any personal data. Crash reporting is disabled in development builds.
No Advertising or Tracking
Cue Line contains no advertising SDKs, tracking pixels, or analytics services beyond crash reporting. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Children's Privacy
Cue Line is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
